Racing Team
Running. We love it.
There is something wonderful about feeling the burn of the oxygen as it enters your lungs on a cold morning as you push with everything you’ve got to get up that hill. Equally as thrilling is that painful rush received as you pass yet another person on the way to finishing up a 5K–earning yet another medal to add to your collection.
Or what about Ragnar–that elusive 24 hour 200 mile-ish relay race throughout various parts of the US? We love California and placed well in Vegas.
CrossFit Survival’s racing team is young. Started in June of 2009 we’re already proud of our collection of brass. Our 2010 schedule is packed–Chinatown 5/10K, Southern California Ragnar, the Mount Wilson Trail Race, the World Famous Camp Pendleton’s Mud Run, Hansen Dam’s 5/10K and Ragnar Vegas are planned among others.
Our training is a hybrid. Modeled after the CrossFit Endurance brand of training, we incorporate sprint, interval and distance work weekly. We also employ CrossFit’s tough conditioning workouts. However, what we also integrate is STRENGTH TRAINING at least 3 days/week in the form of LINEAR PROGRESSION lifting of the Power Lifts–Bench, Deadlift, Back Squat and Press.
There are some requirements in order to make the grade. Contact Coach Franklin at 818-726-5214 for more information.
